PJF Services is currently looking to fill a site foreman position for our Auckland Branch. The Site Foreman role is to lead the team of painters on site keeping staff on track, on task and provide support for the site manager. The Site Foreman is to be the site managers eyes and ears on the job and report to the site manager daily on job progress and project requirements.

Site Foreman responsibilities are as follows:
• Perform all aspects of painting & decorating 
• Preparation of all surfaces 
• Application of coatings to surfaces following given the scope of work, plans, specifications.
• Carry out spraying as required or directed by site manager
• Set up and disassemble access equipment as required for tasks.
• Clean up site daily and upon completion of the project. 
• Ensure all staff has tasks to complete and that jobs are completed on time and to a quality standard of finish.
• Provide training to staff with less experience showing best trade practice methods to complete tasks efficiently.
• Maintain records of time and materials spent on variation works and request variation work orders from the site manager.
• Be proactive and arrange required materials, equipment for the project ahead of time with the site manager.
• Maintain good relationships with client and team members. 
• Hold weekly tool box talks with the team on site and present completed forms to site manager.
• Carry our visual quality checks and action remedial work as required.
• Maintain safe, quality culture on site at all times
• Report health & safety incidents to site manager.
• Maintain electrical tagging of equipment and report due equipment to site manager ahead of time.
• Report any broken or damaged equipment to site manager.
• Induct new persons to site upon entering site
• Maintain hazard register in SSSP
• Maintain hazard board daily
• Set up work area barriers, hoarding, and signage.
• Apply for required permits, task analysis as required or directed by the site manager.
• Reports daily on job progress to site manager
• Reports all health & safety incidents 
• Fills out a daily time sheet.
• Collates other team member’s time sheets on a Tuesday morning ready to hand to site manager. 

Skill and Experience:

• At least 2-5 years of foreman/leadership experience.
• Be painting trade qualified with 10 years experience 
• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Be willing to accept a challenge 
• Be fluent in English both written and oral (this is a mandatory term of employment) 
• Proactive and use initiative 

Communication skills
• Displays developed communication and interpersonal skills 
• Deals with difficult and complex situations taking control to achieve objectives
• Open communication, not afraid to ask for help when something isn’t working out.
• Will openly communicate to clients, management, and staff when expected outcomes change i.e timeline not going to be met.

• Finds creative and workable solutions to difficult problems
• Evaluates the results of problem-solving efforts, and makes adjustments as required
• Displays good judgment - assesses priorities in relation to the big picture
• Builds on simple ideas to develop and execute solutions that address a wider range of issues/needs

• Resourceful - acts quickly using available resources to deal with issues in a practical, effective manner.
• Allocates appropriate time for work tasks, identifies dependencies, and develops timelines and milestones
• Identifies more critical and less critical activities, and maintains focus on priorities
• Is trade qualified painter and has a good understanding of painting and coatings.
