Powerco is going through exciting times delivering a $1.2bn investment in electricity infrastructure over the next five years to provide increased quality and reliability to our customers. To deliver this plan we need the best support for our dedicated employees.

This brand new position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to provide leadership to the operations function within Powerco's dynamic HR team.

You will oversee the operational aspects of our busy HR team including helping to problem solve ER matters, managing policies and processes, managing workloads, as well as delivering exceptional HR support and advice to the wider organisation.

You will report to the Group Manager HR who will rely on you to be a trusted sounding board and support. You will lead and manage five dedicated HR staff focusing on providing the best HR support to meet the needs of the business. You will also provide generalist HR support to your own portfolio of managers and employees.

We're looking for someone who wants to further motivate, develop, and support our dedicated HR staff to deliver in a positive and changing workplace, as well as delivering excellent HR support to our employees. You will be a team player who wants to work in a progressive, well-functioning and committed HR team who always pitch in for each other.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Exceptional leadership and coaching skills
  • A track record of building and maintaining effective teams
  • Proven experience in delivering HR outcomes
  • A deep understanding of HR practice including effective use of HR data
  • Good ER experience
  • An ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of an organisation and externally
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility and resilience - things change... often!
