Job Description:

Maxbuild is a specialist subcontractor providing concrete repair, waterproofing, specialist grouting and structural strengthening services for the construction of new infrastructure, maintenance of existing infrastructure and refurbishment of large buildings.

We are looking for an Operations Manager to inspire and lead our operations team to business growth objectives.  You will be an integral member of the Maxbuild leadership team, creating a winning culture and be responsible for all day to day operations and the successful delivery of projects using industry best practices.
You will have strong technical and people management skills and lead a team of project managers to ensure site work is completed efficiently, responsively and in line with all customer expectations. 

You will have good communication skills and work closely with sales, customers, estimators and project managers to ensure the full scope of work, project planning and operations schedules are clearly understood. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are adequately resourced and that labour resources are fully utilized.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and have;
•   A relevant engineering qualification
•   At least 5 years proven experience of project management - leading construction projects on time and on budget.
•   Ability to manage plant and labour resources across multiple projects.
•   Strong commercial acumen and sound knowledge of the construction industry
•   A very good understanding of ISO Health and Safety standards and compliance.  It would be beneficial if candidate can provide evidence of courses, experience and certifications.
•   Good knowledge of safety in the New Zealand construction industry.
•   Good leadership and management skills – the ability to mentor, inspire, lead and motivate to create high performance teams.
•   Excellent English language skills, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with people and teams from diverse backgrounds
•   Detail orientated with ability to multi task and prioritize tasks
•   Proven ability to create systems and procedures
•   Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.

Ideally, candidates will be experienced in civil construction works, waterproofing, concrete repair or structural strengthening.  Candidates without this experience will be considered if they have sound construction industry experience.
