Training & Events Coordinator (Part-time)

Human Connections Group has partnered exclusively with Otago Southland Employers' Association (OSEA) for the appointment of a part-time Training & Events Coordinator based in Invercargill.

The Company:

OSEA provides tailored and specialist support and training around Employment Law, Health and Safety and Professional Development to organisations in Otago, Southland and The Lakes district.  The team includes a number of highly skilled individuals with various talents and expertise, providing quality advice and support to members.

The objective of the organisation is to give members easy access to quality, reliable and accurate support assisting them to make good business decisions, develop their staff and improve their systems and processes ensuring that they are compliant.

The Job:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the organisation of events and the facilitation of training programmes for clients. There is an impressive professional development calendar full of programmes that have been designed to support members to develop new skills and improve performance and productivity within their business.

  •  Liaise with members over the telephone and via email
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members of the association
  • Assist in the organisation of events and training programmes
  • Organise event facilitators and participants in a timely manner
  • Organise logistics for venues including catering, technical equipment etc
  • Organise course material for training workshops
  • Organise slides for PowerPoint presentations  

Skills Required:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Competency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
  • Customer service skills along with a desire to exceed the expectations of customers
  • Personal resilience and relentlessly positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Teamwork skills coupled with the ability to work independently at times
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Comfortable working within established boundaries and seeking guidance when needed
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving training equipment

The Hours

This is an exciting entry-level opportunity that would suit someone with proven administrative skills who is keen to gain experience in event and course co-ordination.   The hours are expected to be 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday 9am – 12.00pm (with some flexibility possible).
