Job title - Perioperative Evening Floor Clinical Nurse Specialist
Location - Ryde, North Sydney
Salary - Up to $120,000 plus super and salary packaging
Hours - Full time evening hours

Our client is a large Private not-for-profit Hospital in Sydney with over 180 beds. The Hospital performs most surgical specialities including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, and orthopaedics, advanced general and colorectal, urology, spinal surgery, ENT, vascular, paediatrics, oncology and medical care.

The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic personality to hold the position of Perioperative Evening Floor Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) on a full time basis. The CNS is responsible for the efficient and effective coordination of the perioperative service after hours.

The role facilitates the coordination of after-hours surgical and procedural activity, ensuring that key performance clinical indicators are achieved and patient safety is maintained at all times. The CNS is to provide leadership, direction and coordination of patient care, to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care professionals and consumers of the Hospital, and to ensure resources are allocated effectively and efficiently to achieve optimal patient outcomes

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Demonstrated relevant and current experience in Perioperative nursing at the level of Clinical Nurse Specialist or Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated understanding of Surgical Key Performance Indicators
  • Demonstrated understanding of ACORN standards
  • Demonstrated motivational, problem solving and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, creative and self-directed
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, establish and achieve agreed objectives
  • Evidence of professional development commensurate with the level of autonomy and authority expected of the position
  • Adept at fostering positive working relationships
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and confidence in using Microsoft and health care information systems
  • Current WWCC or ability to obtain
  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA
