Job Description:

Commercial Cleaning & Handyman

  • Cover all aspects of General Maintenance & Cleaning.
  • Monday - Friday - normal 8 hr day! Occasional weekend (overtime rates apply).

Our client is New Zealand’s preferred supplier for Auckland electric train network. This multinational business is at the forefront of technology and is an integral part of building Auckland’s infrastructure. They are currently in expansion mode, with additional trains being added to the network this year and consequently they are looking to add to their team.

As a Facilities Handyman, you will be an important part of the team – learning all aspects of their depot and maintenance operations.

This role will involve:

  • Carry out Cleaning of Depot Floor area, Train Wash, Graffiti Wash  
  • Utilize Specialized Cleaning Equipment
  • Disposal of all Liquid Waste in accordance with compliance 
  • Overall Responsibility for Cleaning and Maintenance Consumables (with the guidance of your Manager)
  • Basic Plumbing, Painting & Building works (please note training can be provided)  
  • Operate Forklift and Pallet Jack (training and FL License provided)  
  • Maintaining a high level of Health and Safety  
  • Basic Record Keeping and Administration duties              ·
  • Perform small Delivery's & Pick-ups on occasions. 

You will form part of a passionate team and be required to adhere to strict Health and Safety regulations.  This will require a strong work ethic and the ability to get stuck in and get the job done.

Skills and Attributes that you will need to be successful in this role:

  • A Positive Attitude
  • Attention to detail & pride in your work         
  • Physically Fit         
  • Forklift License (can be obtained via employer)         ·
  • Full Driver’s License preferable         ·
  • Previous experience within Facilities, Industrial Cleaning OR Maintenance.
  • The ability to Read Storm Water Drawings & have a good working understanding of Systems Functionality would be preferred or the aptitude to learn!
  • Good Communication Skills both Written and Verbal, and the ability to complete basic reports.
  • The proven ability to work cohesively in a Team Environment.
  • Initiative to be Pro-active and Ensure Tasks are Completed Accurately and to Procedure
