Business Development Manager - Building Supplies

With an extensive range of building products, from timber; hardware and accessories, this business is 100% service and quality driven, and is a staple in the foundation of New Zealand’s building trade.

They operate a very efficient, professional and customer focused operation, with a flat management structure to allow for quick decision making and less process.

About the position:

  • Managing an existing customer base of Residential Property Developers, small to large builders (new builds, renovations / alterations). Plus prospecting new client relationships.
  • You will be responsible for the servicing of key clients by regular contact, introducing new product, promotions and ensuring you are on 'the ball' with any new projects to quote.
  • This role will see you identifying new opportunities to introduce timber, frame and truss products to the trade customers.
  • Preparation of quotation and supplier agreements.
  • Ensuring orders & delivery times are meeting customer's expectations
  • Liaising with all divisions of the business to ensure an exceptional customer service experience from quotation to delivery.

All about you:

  • Previous experience working in a Sales / Account Management or BDM position within the building industry.
  • Knowledge of Frame and Truss.
  • Relationship driven & team-oriented person.
  • Ability to comprehend building plans.
  • Understanding of NZS3604 standards.
  • Ambitious & career driven with impressive accomplishments acquired within the building trade. 
  • Sound experience of the NZ residential building market.
