Job Description:

A 4 star hotel located in Te Anau in the heart of Fiordland with picturesque views overlooking Lake Te Anau. The hotel boasts 115 guest rooms, Restaurant and Bar, conference facilities, on site wedding chapel, spa, sauna, massage clinic and outdoor heated pool.

Job Requirements:

You will be a proactive person with natural people skills that constantly leaves a lasting impression on guests and staff. It is expected you will have a range of experience in conference, meetings, events and weddings both from an administration and operational perspective. A good knowledge of safe food handling/hygiene practices and a Duty Manager & GM Certificate is required for this position.
Attributes:
  • Experience as Meetings and Events co-ordinator/ Manager in a 4-5 star property
  • Experience in front office reception & Duty Management
  • Experience in restaurant and function operations
  • Well-presented, well-spoken and good level of written and spoken English
  • Personable and friendly personality, approachable
  • Able to work under pressure, accurate, thorough and well organised
  • Natural leader, team player and highly efficient at motivating staff
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with key account holders, wholesalers, tour directors and drivers
  • Highly customer service orientated, ability to wow guests is crucial to be successful in this role, along with excellent personalised service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, well presented, ability to multi-task and handle pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail, confidence in dealing with guests, managing enquiries and running a range of meetings, functions and events.
  • The Event Manager/Duty Manager will deliver professional event services across a portfolio of local, national and international events.
