Catalogue Creation - Project Manager

Based in Highbrook, my client is a strongly branded, well recognised company and a significant player in the office products industry in New Zealand.

On their behalf, we are seeking an experienced Catalogue Project Manager to work on a very exciting Category Management project.

This is a juicy 6+ month project where you will be working to build new catalogues across all categories within the business and will utilize all your skills across catalogue creation, range management, marketing, design, planning and analysis.

You won’t be starting from scratch. The company has catalogues to use as a starting point, but this is an amazing opportunity to give them a complete review….a new look…a new feel…. You will be working with creative agencies as well as across the departments of the business, in particular the sales and marketing teams to rationalize the product ranges in terms of selection, marketing, product placement, catalogue design, content, customer feedback and supplier feedback.

You will bring

  • Experience in Category Management 
  • Experience in Catalogue Creation 
  • Experience in Range management 
  • Good eye for design and understanding of catalogue functionality and design
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Strong negotiation Skills
  •  Strong Planning and analysis skills
  • Have advanced Excel
  • SAP experience is useful 
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Motivated self-started that can work independently with strong attention to detail,


The Role in a bit more detail

  • Ascertain the exact purpose and number of catalogues 
  • Work with the National Merchandising team on costings and budget 
  • Create a method of assigning products to those 
  • Work with merchandising team, sales and solutions teams to choose products
  • Work with Creative Agency to create design 
  •  Liaise with Category Managers around product availability 
  • Liaise with Sales/Marketing/Management around key messages 
  • Project manage the Merchandising Team, Vendors, Agencies etc 
  • Adding products to SAP, creating codes and descriptions, liaising with vendors for images 
  • Proofing of pages 
  • Final Sign off on each  

 It would be highly desirable if you had worked on other catalogue businesses and  can bring that experience to this awesome role.
