Assistant Store Manager - Operations - Newmarket

We're calling for an experienced retail manager to the join the Management team within our Newmarket Store, who knows how to manage both teams and processes. In a mid size store you're a jack of all trades so we're searching for someone with expert people management skills, an eye for detail with regards to process, policy, and compliance, and a senior level of leadership behind them to support the store manager with key employment matters, and duty management of the full store.

Reporting directly to the store manager, you'll be responsible for all HR and ER functions, wage management, and managing the office, store receiving, and loss prevention. This is an operational role with a large administration focus, but two days a week you'll be driving sales and service and a world class customer experience across the whole store in your role of duty manager. 

We are seeking a retail expert with:

  • A strong passion for retail and driving exceptional customer experience
  • The ability to prioritise workloads to effectively meet deadlines
  • Previous experience in managing retail teams of 15+
  • Strong leadership skills in coaching and mentoring teams
  • Experience in end to end recruitment of sales teams
  • An understanding of best practice Human Resource Management and Employment Relations
  • Sound knowledge in loss prevention, store receiving and cash office functions

This role is for 80 hours per fortnight, and includes weekend days as per the management roster.
