Business Development Manager - Civil & Infrastructure market

Our clients are leading suppliers to the Civil, Infrastructure  industries of New Zealand.

They provide:

  • Temporary road signs & safety products
  • Personal Safety products
  • Temporary fencing
  • Construction consumables
  • Geo products

There 20+year success has been due to their provision of a multi-platform of supply solutions  and first rate customer service, resulting in increased demand and repeat business.

We are looking for someone who is at the stage of their career where they REALLY WANT to get stuck in and make their mark.

Our client is looking to appoint a very motivated, hardworking and ambitious BDM, who works very hard and in return wants to be rewarded.

This opportunity is on offer for someone who will go into this role full steam ahead and make some serious inroads. They will be at the top of their game, a true sale 'gun' with a " leave no stone unturned" approach and will get out there and make it happen.

The Role:

  • Bring on new civil and  infrastructure industry clients by on-site prospecting visits
  • Spend large portion of time on site to gain first hand knowledge of projects and what products are being used. (Spend more time onsite than in the office)
  • Develop opportunities to quote and supply products currently supplied by a competitor.
  • Be abreast of all upcoming opportunities, projects and developments
  • Understand target market and their challenges to support overall sales objectives.
  • Look for opportunities outside the square.
  • Develop unique customer sales initiatives.
  • Build relationships and work with the company's Account Managers to grow the customer


  • Someone who has sold into the infrastructure or Civil space and understand this market is imperative.
  • Someone who constantly overachieves sales targets
  • You are more a Hunter than Farmer
  • You will be ready to sink your teeth into this opportunity and work hard to achieve both your own and the company's goals.
  • Ability to build sales relationships and influence decision-makers
  • High activity and a direct approach to the decision makers. (We are not interested in those that waste time befriending everyone site).
  •  Ability to pitch a value proposition that supports your client's specific needs
  • Ability to work independently in effectively managing your territory as if it were your own business.

Our client is keen on attracting top talent for this role so area offering a first-rate Remuneration package. A base salary of $80K up to $110K ( depending on experience) 4x4dual cab ute and commission component. (OTE $130K - $140K+ uncapped)
