Key Account Manager - National and Head Office Accounts

Our client is a large well-known organization, with a strong reputation as a leader of their industry in fire protection. They have been leading this industry for over 100 years in New Zealand. They are a large company, operating from fourteen sites and have hundreds of technicians.

On their behalf, we are seeking a confident Key Account Manager to manger a portfolio of the company’s Tier One, large Corporate Multisite Customers (think Fonterra) and also some local and national government accounts.

Based in the Auckland Head Office, this person will be tasked developing strong strategic relationships with these clients, growing profitability and revenue and ensuring that through high end service delivery that the account runs smoothly to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.

This role is supported by 2 Key Account Administrators that assist in the day to day management of these accounts, while you hold the face to face relationship, negotiate contracts, deliver against KPI's, analysis as well as reporting and ensuring all compliance measures are met. 

Your strong ability to manage senior stakeholder at all levels will come in handy, as you engage in a senior consultative manner at CEO, Director and CFO level to position us for future growth opportunities.

You will work to enhance business relationships and contribute to the wider business performance by maintaining profitable growth and exceeding financial targets.

About you!

  • Proven Strategic Key Account Management skills
  • Preference will go to those from the Fire protection industry or Facilities Management / Compliance space, however those with Key Account experience dealing at C-Level from within a comparable industrial industry should still apply.
  • Ability to understand and convey technical services is important.
  • Ability to pitch customized solutions that support your client's needs
  • Credibility in managing and growing existing industry relationships.
  • Confidence and credibility at senior level negotiations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Senior level commercial acumen
  • Proven sales and negotiation skills
  • Strong knowledge of national and local governments (desired)
  • Good understanding of contracts
  • Strong finance/project evaluation and problem-solving skills

Possessing excellent communication skills with strong commercial acumen with a natural flair for leveraging key contracts across service offerings, you will be capable of building effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Dynamic, engaging and results driven, you will play a pivotal role in growing market share, by adding value and driving opportunities where additional revenue opportunities can be realized.
