Business Development Manager - Technology Platform - Solutions Seller

  • Proven experience in identifying new business opportunitiesHunter Mentality!
  • $85K - $100K Base  + Com = OTE $150K+uncapped ( potentially much more)

Based on Auckland’s City fringe, our client provides technology-based solutions and services to the Building and Construction industries of New Zealand. In fact, they provide solutions to all industries that support this area, so your clients could be those in the manufacturing or finance sector, they could be Project Managers, Engineers, Recruitment agencies, or importers of products, etc, the list goes on.

Due to growth, they are strengthening their Sales team and are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager.

As a BDM with this company, it will be your job to hunt out and secure new customers and sell a solution that will suit the needs of your client’s business.  The company is well known, and the platform is brilliant so your close rate should be high.

We are looking for those who are confident in acquiring new customers through prospecting activities and can build and manage a healthy pipeline consistent with sales targets.

About You:

  • Proven experience in identifying new business opportunitiesHunter Mentality
  • 3 - 5+ years sales experience, preferably selling a solution or non-tangible product, or software, possibly even from a recruitment, advertising or training background
  • Demonstrable track record in new business sales 
  • Solutions focused. Ability to sell the whole solution.
  • Extremely strong business acumen
  • Someone who can present well to senior managers and at boardroom level
  • Someone who prepares well for their sales appointment – knowing prospects business inside and out
  • Technically savvy. Ability to understand and pitch the solutions in a meaningful way.
  • A thirst for learning and will put effort int o growing their product understanding
  • A strong closer of business, focused on achieving sales targets
  • Someone who is active in the market – exceeds expected sales activity levels
  • Confidence in prospecting – ability to self-generate leads.
