SALES TEAM LEADER - Manage a small Account Management Team

Our client advises on world-class design process solutions to the Manufacturing, Engineering, Architectural and Construction industries. They are the providers of the most capable 3D design and modelling software that is available in New Zealand, bringing together a solution of software, hardware, systems and training.

They are in a period of growth and therefore are strengthening their Auckland based sales team and so are looking appoint a Team Leader  to manage their  Customer Care team, (Account Managers and Customer Service Representatives),

The role will be focused around ensuring the team meets their sales and service KPI’s, responding to client needs, reducing client churn, planning and managing their client contact activities, upselling customers into the full bundle of services, and signing and re-signing customers.

You will also be actively managing a portfolio of the company’s top accounts, so we are seeking someone who is hands-on with their team, but will enjoy getting amongst it and servicing the needs of their own portfolio of accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the team is trained & fully understand the Value Proposition & that sales methodologies and customer contact is meaningful.
  • Ensure revenue targets are met through active upsell activity
  • Support and coach Customer Care / Account Management team to ensure effective customer engagement
  • Ensure the team meets their KPI’s around sales & service activity & call quality remains high
  • Assist team in planning call cycles and sales plan implementation
  • Ensure compliance against sales and service processes
  • Managing escalated client issues to achieve a successful outcome. 
  • Identifying areas where coaching can produce greater efficiency and sales productivity
  • Identify areas of non-performance and address.

Experience/ Skills Needed

It will be a huge bonus to have…………

  • Industry experience (either from or selling into) Manufacturing, Engineering, Architectural industries
  • Any Knowledge or experience in using or implementation of 3D Design Software.


  • Experience leading Account Managers and Customer Service Reps
  • Ability to mentor, coach and & support your team to achieve
  • Ability to develop and implement telephone customer care and account management plans
  • Ability to analyse and interpret sales metrics, revenue tracking and provide reporting.
  • Ability to foster a proactive, positive and collaborative team environment
  •  Performance driven and the accountability to strive for optimum results.
