Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) Manager

As the HSE Manager you will take the lead role in health, safety, environment and wellbeing, with a focus and responsibility for on-site safety management systems and safety performance.   You will review and support policies and practices and drive new initiatives whilst providing advice and assistance on health and safety management. 

You will have the ability to facilitate effective safety meetings, review work practices of staff and sub-contractors, identify hazards and review suitable controls.  You will proactively lead accident and incident prevention initiatives and foster an environment of continuous improvement. 

There will also be plenty of opportunity to shape our clients longer terms plans and approach, whilst working in conjunction with management and staff, to ensure commitment and buy in from all.


  • Review work practices of staff, contractors and sub-contractors in alignment with work action plans
  • Work with all teams to achieve a positive commitment around SHE practices
  • Actively develop, implement and monitor actions to eliminate or minimize possible hazards as well as writing policies and procedures
  • Advise on changes and developments in HSE and ensure HSE policies and procedures are updated accordingly
  • Conduct and organise HSE training programs for all employees
  • Be a hands on champion in hazard identification, risk management and continuous improvement 
  • Reporting of SHE management information including incidents and investigations

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised Health and Safety qualification
  • Chemical or Engineering, health and safety, experience across multiple sites
  • Ability to motivate managers, supervisors and staff in a variety of health and safety related areas
  • Effective communication style and ability to influence at all levels
  • The ability to coach staff in safe behaviors
  • A genuine passion for developing a high performing safety culture
  • Ability to provide specialist advice and be able to audit to legal and company standards
