I.T SUPPORT MANAGER - Part time - 25 - 30 hours/ week

Our Avondale based client, is a very well-established Kiwi success story and have been supporting leading names in the Food, Dairy, Materials Handling, Manufacturing, Marine and General Engineering industries since 1980. They are trusted metal manufacturing solutions provider, specializing in the fabrication and engineering of equipment and products for stainless steel.

On their behalf we are recruiting for a Part Time IT Support person for a long-term contract of 12 – 18 months. (Potentially longer).

The purpose of this role is to support the IT/ IS Manager, with day to day IT tasks, while he is heavily involved in a new ERP implementation project. The role will backfill the Manager and look after all IT requirements for the business with the support of outside contractors, as well as some system development projects as required.

The hours for this role will be offered up at around 25 – 30 hours a week, with some flexibility. Preference will go to those who can do 5-6 hours each day (maybe a mum returning to the workforce and wanting school hours.

Software: Windows Server 2016, MS Access, Microsoft SQL 2014, Windows 10 pro, Office 365,

A bonus to have:/ NC programming Software, SharePoint, MS Teams   SSIS and XML Skills, CAD software

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem-solving skills
  • Will ensure a timely resolution of any issues.
  • A good understanding of computer hardware and networks
  • Database administration / development experience
  • MS Access, MS SQL 2014
  • An understanding of Windows 10 operating system
  • Great communication and ability to work with both internal staff and outside providers
  • Strong organizational dn prioritization skills
  • A positive upbeat person who will use their initiative

About the Role: 120 staff

IT Support:

  • Manager general I.T Support issues, with the support of outside providers. This includes all computers, printers, photocopiers, phones and software (on premise and in the cloud)
  • Diagnose any issues and liaise with the ‘right’ support contractor and ensure the issue is resolved
  • Manage the relationship with the outside providers (4 of these)
  • Oversee Workstation Management including setup, maintenance, replacement and updates
  • Oversee Users – setup, training, remote access permissions, etc.
  • Oversee network storage ad back ups
  • Ensure antivirus and malware protection is current and updated
  • Assist in ongoing projects – there will be a few of these
  •  Be a great support for all departments, being the ‘go to” person for all I.T related queries and issues.

Access Database: Ideally, we are looking for someone who has some Access/ SQL development experience so they can complete some changes as and when needed. 

  • Maintain SQL databases
  • Assist with Queries/ migrate data,
  • Permissions
  • Development of reports and other improvements

This is a really great role in a fantastic company and will be an amazing part time role for the right person that has a very broad base of IT skills.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who is as close to the brief above, but we understand that there will be some upskilling involved. We are only interested in those how will be able to commit to 18 months, possibly even longer. No students please.

A massive bonus would be if you have any experience in a manufacturing environment, especially fabrication/ engineering manufacturing.
