Job Description:

Manaaki Mgmt. also known as Wellington Functions Team are the food and beverage service providers in three venues, offering 8 rooms for hire.  We are a well established and very busy venue operator.  This is a great opportunity to join our growing team of professionals.

You will work in a professional team with a complete customer focus at all times.  Becoming part of our team encompases manaakitanga, team work, great work ethic, and a great attitude.

Duties includes
  • Manage and oversee the services to our function clients covering all needs including… Room sets, Ambiance in Rooms, Cleanliness of Rooms, Catering to clients
  • Direct contact with our customers to assess their satisfaction of the services provided
  • Assistance with menu planning in consultation with the food and beverage management team - i.e. chefs and sales coordinators
  • Ensuring all Eftpos, Cash, Charge backs are recorded correctly to enable correct billing to client, for all food, beverage and associated costs
  • All preparation and organization of functions and events
  • Ensuring all products are charged at the correct sale price for goods
  • Will also assist in all day to day, service needs as and when required, with regards to general food and beverage service
  • Ensuring all purchasing of products is completed in a timely manner and within the budgets set
  • Ensuring regular maintenance and recording of stock levels
  • Ensuing all room facilities are clean, functional and of suitable appearance
  • Training and supervision of all Conference & Event staff
  • Planning and organizing day to day events and functions
  • Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
  • Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
  • Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance
  • Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service
  • Manage all licensing requirements for your events, as per legislation
A commitment to great customer service, and a management supervisory background are a must.   This is a permanent position.

 

Job Requirements:

You must
-have a minimum of 2 years experience in a hospitality management role.
-You will be prepared to work on the busiest days and at the busiest times. 
- hold a valid, current general managers certificate.
- hold a current full NZ drivers license.
- to lead by example.
- take full responsibility for this role. 
- have the ability to ensure the team are motivated and operate as a cohesive unit,
- guarantee a high expectation of service on all shifts
- ensure that maximum profit is being made at all times
- ensure that maximum selling opportunities are being taken at all times

An understanding of basic tikanga Maori and the ability to korero Maori would be beneficial to your application.
