Job Description:

For many years our client has been supplying New Zealand's food and beverage processing industries, with capital equipment and machinery. They have the widest range of process and packaging equipment on offer and represent agency lines, as well as used equipment, enabling them to service a  very wide range of food processing industries.

 On their behalf, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Capital Equipment Sales Engineer, to focus on driving sales opportunities within the manufacturing, specifically plant machinery & packaging equipment sectors.

We are looking for those who are confident in managing existing customers as well as acquiring new customers through prospecting activities and can build and manage a healthy sales pipeline.  We need someone who will take ownership of the sales process, ensuring the equipment is sourced, delivered, installed and commissioned to meet the customer's requirements.

Previous experience selling equipment into the food processing industry is desired.  We are seeking someone who wants to partner with the industry, and is able to provide asset management solutions, ensuring their clients immediate and  future requirements are catered to.

To do this successful you will bring a strong blend of technical intelligence and sales ability and a desire to grow a business.

About You:

  • Proven sales skills in new business as well as managing existing accounts.
  •  Sales experience within food processing industry, particularly packaging/process equipment
  • Be proactive to maximize all new business opportunities
  • Ability to plan and implement a strategic sales process
  • Ability to determine customers’ current and future needs and present the right solutions
  • Enjoys selling a technical product and has the ability relate its applications to customers
  • Communicate with confidence & intelligence – be commercially savvy
  • Strong technical ability (Technical or engineering background beneficial)
  • Enthusiasm to maintain & increase your own product knowledge & capabilities
  • Works well with internal team, especially with service engineers & workshop for reconditioning and commissioning of equipment
  • Solid project management skills 
  • Be able to travel nationally (Must be  legally able to work in NZ.)
