The company:

Our client Container Door Ltd is an online group buying community connecting people to factories from around the world.They cut out the middlemen and are able to find and offer customers a variety of awesome products directly from the source and deliver right to their doorstep in New Zealand.

They are about to launch an exciting project -  a new division focused on quality food products, mostly locally sourced, and we need you to take control of the warehouse. This role will be based in Penrose, and to begin with you will work with a small team that consists of yourself and two to three warehouse staff who will report into you. As the business grows, your number of direct reports will increase over time.

The opportunity:

As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management of the warehouse. You’ll lead a high performing small team while delivering exceptional outcomes for customers. You will also be happy to get stuck in and help out with warehouse duties. To be considered for this role you MUST have previous management experience in a grocery/refrigerated foods environment, those without this will not be considered. 

Duties include:

  • Managing the day to day operations of the warehouse
  • Ensure all health and safety, compliance and quality standards are followed

  • Maintain and control all costs, ensuring everything is within budget

  • Implement processes and systems that will achieve best practice

  • Ensure a high level of customer service at all times

  • Provide leadership, and develop the warehouse team through mentoring, coaching and training

Skills & Experience required:

  • Previous management experience in a grocery/refrigerated foods environment is absolutely essential for this role 

  • Proven previous warehouse management experience is essential

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Must have a thorough understanding of health and safety

  • A solid relationship builder with excellent people skills

  • Confident with computers and systems

  • Those only with NZ Citizenship or NZ permanent residency will be considered for this role
