Job Description:

Delivery & Dispatch

This role is a busy role ensuring that completed Customer orders are checked and correctly packaged for dispatch and delivered to customers to meet the companies expected on time delivery deadlines. Communication is key as you will be required to interact with a large number of people including customers. From time to time issues may arise with customers or delivery of goods, which must be handled correctly and reported to your Manager. You will also be responsible for the care of all delivery vehicles and reporting any incidents in a timely manner to your Manager.

• Good level of computer literacy and ability to learn operation of the Primero software interface.
• High level of concentration. This means you work on the task/s you are given without being side tracked or stopping to chat with others during worktime.
• Demonstrate maturity and responsibility at all times.
• Good Health
• A clean class 2 driver’s licence

Primary Duties

• Preparation and packaging of orders for shipment. Accuracy is vital. This will involve following Company outwards goods procedures.
• Operation of computer software to complete or deliver orders, print paperwork in the system, as directed by your Supervisor / Manager.
• Unloading and loading of trucks. This will involve following the inwards and outwards goods procedures.
• Ensure all documentation is kept up to date at all times, correctly completed and filed.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with the companies Health & Safety Policies.
• Authority to stop any work or activity that is unsafe.
• Ensuring that the company procedures and policies are adhered to at all times.
• Ability to work unsupervised to get the job done
• Delivery of goods where required. Primary delivery person for local and some regional orders. Ensure that the delivery run sheet is completed, signed and filed in all instances.
• Complete necessary documentation to enable goods to be dispatched
• Software system is used correctly ensuring that customer satisfaction, on time completion of orders and operational efficiencies are achieved always.
• Ensure all items used for packaging of finished products are readily available at all times
• Unloading of Products from Machines as required to enable on time dispatch

Secondary Duties
• Updating inwards goods documentation for incoming goods – when primary inwards good person is not available. Checking correct grade, thickness and quantity is supplied to positively identify the original steel mill markings. Accuracy is vital.
