Our client is a well-established Gisborne based Civil Construction company. They are looking for a Bitumen Team Leader that will work well with their experienced team.
 
This is a full-time role best suited to someone who is able to lead from the front, an effective planner, quality controller and coordinator of site teams and contractors.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading, coordinating and managing the surfacing crew
• Providing training to crew members
• Organising the surfacing projects, reading and interpreting plans, specifications and marking out designs on site
• Organise the logistics of products and materials for efficient use and ensure they are laid as per project specifications
• Understand and apply leadership in Health and Safety
• Manage all quality assurance requirements
• Maintaining accurate records of works undertaken

 
 

• Proven experience managing site teams and subcontractors
• A good level of asphalt preparation, placing and finishing skills
• In-depth knowledge of aggregates and surfacing (hot mix and chip-sealing)
• Be a competent machine operator with base preparation capabilities
• To have worked in high-trust, autonomous roles previously and subsequently be a motivated, natural self-starter
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Strong abilities in reading and interpreting plans
• To be an effective communicator
• Full and clean New Zealand driver’s licence
