JCL are a locally owned and operated business specialising in Asphalt & Chipseal construction and surfacing. We are market leaders and pride ourselves on raising the standard with quality, service and health & safety. With over 65 staff across three branches, we have a strong pipeline of work secured for 2022 and beyond! Therefore we are seeking an experience skilled Asphalter who is either in a Leading Hand or Foreman role presently.

You will report into the Supervisor and be responsible for overseeing the crew and the delivery of our Asphalting programme of works.

To be considered for this position:

• Minimum Full Class 2 driver’s license / WTR.
• Ability to follow procedures, instructions, plans and schedules.
• Ability to interact with people of all levels and backgrounds.
• Understanding of civil construction including roading, footpaths Kerb and Channel and civil earthworks.
• Ability to set up and use grade lasers and set out from plans and perform relevant site level checks for quality purposes.
• Experience overseeing multiple work fronts and crews to ensure deadlines are maintained.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to plan daily and weekly work programmes with the assistances of Supervisor.
• Commitment to finishing tasks on time, to budget and to the highest standard.
• Solid understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and commitment to ensuring a fully compliant jobsite – leading by example.
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to be an inspirational motivator.
