Lovett Family Farms is a highly established family farm which has been in the family for 3 generations. It has developed into a vastly successful operation with a variety of crops being grown over its 1000 hectares of land including a range of vegetables and grains (potatoes, carrots, onions, blackcurrants, wheat, barley, peas, grass seed, radish). The modern facilities of the farm also include an onion packhouse, potato store and carrot wash, in addition to state-of-the-art machinery.
Lovett Family Farms is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator / Packing Line Operator / General Farm Duties to join their company in Ashburton, NZ.
The primary purpose of this position is to operate the Forklift in our Onion Packhouse assist with the day-to-day operating of our Packing and Sorting machinery. In the off season general farm duties would be carried out.
Some of your responsibilities include:
To be successful in this role you will have experience working with Forklifts and operating in a dynamic Packhouse or Warehouse environment.
You will also have some farming knowledge and be able to adapt to the changing pressures of the farm and seasonal production demands.
You will have to be happy working with your Hands and not scared of doing All Jobs on farm.
The successful candidate will be level-headed and reliable whilst having the ability to adapt to changing circumstances whilst working autonomously. They will also have a strong business mind and understanding of cost management.
