Medication Supply and Systems Manager - Pharmacist

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist responsible for leading and managing the process, systems and staff involved in the medication supply service at this leading DHB.

The position reports to the Service Manager, Pharmacy

The incumbent will also contribute towards excellent and improving outcomes in the following areas:

The position holder will be responsible for managing all aspects of medication – related supply chain

practice in accordance with the legal requirement, professional ethics and hospital and pharmacy service

policies and procedures

The role will also involve carrying out dispensary and supply function, including medication procurement, inventory

Management and supply chain related information systems and technology

Managing and supervising team of dispensary technicians, dispensary pharmacists , inventory controllers and system pharmacists

You will work with the Service manager to develop and direct the dispensary and pharmacy systems service plan

This is a challenging role including clinical safety, service delivery and resourcing issues

You be able to prioritise issues and negotiate time frames, while still providing a quality customer service

Required competency:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy
• NZ registration with current APC
• Post graduate qualification may include clinical pharmacy and / or 
• Business Health Management qualification
• 5 years experience as a Registered Pharmacist in a hospital setting
• Hospital inpatient dispensary experience
• Experience managing a dispensary
• Ability to lead and manage projects and people
• Experience with medicine distribution
