Our Deep-Water Fleet operate out of Timaru. Our fleet includes deep-sea trawlers, scampi vessels and long liners which target fisheries both in NZ and as far away as the Ross Sea.
The Opportunity: This is an independent contractor (self-employment) opportunity onboard the San Aotea II, one of Sanford's Deep Water Longliner Fishing Vessels where, as mate you will be responsible for supporting the Skipper to lead the at sea operation and management of the vessel and crew to produce high quality NZ Seafood.
To Be Successful: The San Aotea II team has a strong values led culture, where people are the operations most important asset. To be successful in this role the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of yourself and your team must always come first.
You will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and the ability to build an engaged and high performing team. With proven experience, knowledge and success predominantly in the Toothfish and Ling fisheries, you will excel in passing on this knowledge to others through education and hands on training.
