Job description

The Role: 

This is a 24-month project-focused position where you will play a crucial role in helping our partners accelerate the modernisation and standardisation of their IT network, storage, servers, and infrastructure management tools and services. As the role is not BAU-focused your will work will be measurable and responsible for significantly improving the company’s security posture, accelerating them towards best practice ITSM and ensuring fit-for-purpose infrastructure. 

While they prefer the role to be based in one of their main hub locations (Dunedin, Christchurch, or Hastings) they are flexible for the right person.  You will be a key part of a small team focused on migrating networks, removing and replacing end-of-life operating systems and hardware across 14 manufacturing locations.  The project team will be supported by the wider technology team.

About you: 

Complimenting your strong technical capability and eagerness to learn new technology, you will have the proven ability to prioritise, plan, document and execute tasks to ensure successful project delivery. 

You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, being adaptable in your ability to work with a variety of people across all levels of the business.

Required experience: 
  • 3 years proven experience delivering key project work as a systems engineer. 
  • Extensive knowledge in Windows Server installation and configuration, and Microsoft Active Directory. 
  • Proven experience in implementing and configuring IT networks and related infrastructure (experience with Palo Alto, Aruba and Cisco networking hardware would be advantageous)
  • Excellent documentation capabilities maintaining all policies and procedures
  • Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Relevant industry certifications would be advantageous.  
You will need to be flexible as this role will require working outside of the standard weekday business hours, along with weekends. Occasional travel to manufacturing plants and office hub locations will also be involved.
