Job description

Our client is a large global sales organisation, offering market leading professional services and best in class SAAS solutions to businesses across New Zealand. With a history of over 30 years, they have made their mark establishing themselves as a leader of their industry and with continued investment in digital innovation, they have created solutions that bring together the tools, systems, and expertise to support businesses with Employee Relations and Health and Safety in the workplace. Something that is so fundamental to business success and if neglected, can be very costly and end up causing business owners a whole pile of stress.

They are currently strengthening their NZ leadership team and are looking to appoint a Head of Internal Sales, to drive the performance of the NZ phone-based sales function (Telesales teams - of 40), based in Auckland CBD.

This is a hands-on role, which will suit an experienced Contact Centre leader, who understands how to coach, motivate, and drive the sales activity and performance behaviours, required to hit KPI’s in an Inbound / Outbound telesales environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who will relish being part of a successful, global organization, who will take ownership and lead from the front, ready to take the Auckland Internal Sales team to peak performance.

The Role:

  • Hold overall responsibility for the team’s performance, as they deliver on company targets 
  • Coach, mentor, and support Floor Managers, to ensure performance is consistent and KPIs are met
  • Support Floor Managers with performance management and / or any escalating team issues
  • Hold training workshops and coaching sessions to improve teams’ overall sales performance
  • Oversees lead generation for seminars and events 
  • Develop teams ‘quality conversations’ to ensure prospects are being pitched correctly and leads are well qualified
  • Ensures team complies to company’s processes and quality standards are met
  • Analyses and interprets CRM systems and sales metrics, telephony stats, and utilises the information meaningfully
  • Impacts strategy to ensure call and quality metrics are met
  • Prepare management reporting 
  • Involvement in staff recruitment and a strong focus on staff retention and growth
  • Rewarding and celebrating success
  • Become a valued and contributing member of the senior leadership team.

You:

  • Recent, relevant experience of leading large Contact Centre teams (8-10+ years)
  • A proven track record in improving team performance and a real focus on coaching 
  • Preferably with Call Centre environments of 20++ seats
  • Experience in arming your team with the tools for lead generation and cold calling
  • Focuses on cultivating a culture of high achievement. Motivated about your team’s success.
  • Well-developed Coaching, Mentoring, and training skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret sales metrics
  • Takes accountability for driving performance and achieving sales targets
