Job description

The Distinction Hotel Whangarei is looking for people to work mornings and evenings in our Kitchen. We need people who have a genuine love of hospitality and the ability to offer an outstanding product to our guests.

The applicant must be confident in all aspects of cookery At least 4 years experience Experience in a la carte restaurant, Buffett & Breakfast. Reporting to the Exec chef / Sous Chef Cooking and preparing food to a high level standard Maintaining cleaning schedules & food safety records Pleasant, friendly personality with a positive attitude. Excellent communication and relationship management skills. Ability to work competently under pressure. Dependable and trustworthy. High standard of personal hygiene and presentation.


Job requirements

Minimum qualification certificate in cookery level 3 or 4 (equivalent qualification preferably in a Hotel kitchen, Restaurant or similar environment) Minimum 4 years or more experience Pleasant, friendly personality with a positive attitude Excellent communication and relationship skills Dependable and trustworthy Experience in Asian and Western cuisine would be a benefit  Creative and enthusiastic Flexibility to work a range of hours which includes but is not limited to breakfast, evenings and public holidays
