Our Client:
Formed in 2002, our client, a boutique IT Managed Services firm has been providing strategic IT business support across all sectors and industries since that time. The team is made up of a wide range of passionate, professional IT professionals who are all about upskilling and growing their skills, and yours. Our client provides onsite and remote IT services to businesses of all sizes across Auckland. 
The Role:
Based at one of their clients who are a Food sector equipment manufacturing business, you will be the Systems Administrator providing all onsite support in Highbrook, East Auckland. They serve a global customer base where the Executives of the business travel frequently. You will be happy to support them in their technical requirements.
This role suits an infrastructure systems administrator who is a generalist across network infrastructure, server platforms and application technologies.
With a focus on revitalising their IT Infrastructure and Network technologies, you will be instrumental in a range of business enabling projects (over the next 12-24 months) while providing dedicated technical support to a small yet diverse customer (internal staff) base.
Our client requires the successful candidate to be technically competent in the following requirements;
  • Windows Server Administration including monitoring and patching.
  • Reviewing and where possible, reducing the number of servers and infrastructure required on site (Physical Servers, VM’s and HP SAN)
  • Networking – administration of router and switch infrastructure while taking the lead on a refreshment programme – currently ubiquity tech.
  • Managing all wifi access points and resolving issues as they arise.
    • Router/switches/access points testing and replacing
  • Hardware troubleshooting including;
    • Cables/docks
  • SharePoint – strategically laying out the plan to migrate from a file server structure to a SharePoint solution and then, subsequently train all users in the new and improved benefits of SharePoint.
  • Core application support – Internal systems that drive their manufacturing processes (training provided).
  • Office 365 – managing their licenses, assigning users, policy etc including end point security.
  • Exchange online and OneDrive administration and management.
The role is available for an immediate start. The hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 3:15pm.
About you:
We are looking for reliable, technically competent people who have in the past made recommendations to non-IT Literate executives and drove improvement programmes. You will need to be commercial confident, good with users on the shop floor up to and including the Executive/s. And importantly be seen as a safe set of hands.
You will have been an onsite engineer in your past career and looking to step into what is best described as an IT Manager role.
You will need to be confident in your ability to self-drive as you will be working mostly independently on the IT work, and you will need to be able to provide advice and ideas for future automation.
Flexible up to $95,000 annually, this is an incredible opportunity for an experienced System Administrator to take ownership of the IT environment and move your career into IT Management.
