Hours: Full Time
Salary: $67,000- $72,000

About this opportunity

You will be part of a well-respected OT service that works closely alongside the other disciplines in the team and staff on the ward.  If you want to experience a well-functioning OT service that is appreciated and truly part of this larger ward team then this is the job for you.  Personal development and autonomy are encouraged.  This environment is flexible and celebrates initiative.  Te Whare O Matairangi consists of a rich and diverse group of people and cultures.  We want our staff group to reflect the people we work with.  This is an environment where you will feel comfortable bringing your whole self to work, where diversity and inclusion are valued.

The OT team consists of an advanced Occupational Therapist and two OT support workers.  We run a 7 day program and work alongside a range of NGO and community groups to provide a wide and varied OT program.  We have a very clear rational behind the purpose of what we do, and have great relationships with the wider community services.  Our aim is that if someone benefits from an activity they attended on the ward they can maintain that interest in the community.  They can continue to work with the same services who facilitated many of the groups on the ward.  Our team also has a part time music therapist and a peer support worker.  We work alongside volunteers and each week we fill the ward with flowers donated from a local florist.

We are an ever-changing service, trying to improve on the work we already do.  There is opportunity to contribute new and fresh ideas and meaningfully be part of positive growth and new initiatives.
