Job description

We are looking for 2 Thai Cooks. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and well-established Auckland based Thai restaurant and become a part of team in the kitchen. 

This job is required to perform: (specific duty tasks)

  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality

  • Hire, train, and supervise cooks and other food preparation workers

  • Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies needed to ensure efficient operations

  • Monitor sanitation practices and ensure that kitchen safety standards are followed

  • Prepare, cook and serve food in accordance with menus ensuring a high level of quality and presentation is achieved at all times according to agreed standards

  • Oversee the appropriate receiving and stores

  • Plan and consult on menus to meet agreed food cost targets

  • Maintaining HACCP procedures and practises

  • Foster sound relationships with front-of-house staff and kitchen staff

  • Maintain kitchen equipment and plant in good condition


Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job 

  • At least 3 years of experience working at an Asia restaurant; OR

  • The National Skill Standard Testing as Asian cook OR 

  • Any Certificate of completion as Thai, Malaysia and Vietnam Culinary that is approved by Ministry of Education of the country

Minimum hours per week

30 Hours/ week
