Job description

  • Permanent, Full time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm/8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Pay Equity: $22.49 to $28.25 per hour (depending on qualifications, as the role falls under the Pay Equity settlement for Mental Health)
  • To cover West Auckland region. Vehicle, Mobile Phone and Laptop will be provided to support the role.

The Service:

Ember Employment provides employment support for people who have experienced mental distress to find and retain work.


We offer a demanding, yet exciting work environment with ongoing training and supervision. Our team is supportive, experienced, and committed to meeting contractual requirements. Our dedicated mobile teams of employment consultants serve the greater Auckland area from our North Shore, South Auckland and Papakura Hubs providing support from Pokeno to Kaitaia



Employment Consultants work with clients referred to Ember Services Limited, Employment Service, to identify their employment goals and aspirations and to facilitate placement into open employment.  Supporting clients to maintain employment through an individualised employment support plan is an essential component of the position.


To build and maintain robust relationships with a range of companies and employers which reflects the diversity of the employment market.


To ensure that the Ministry of Social Development contract targets are met both individually and collectively.


Job requirements

You will: Experience of working in Employment Support or related role e.g. Work and Income, Career Advice, Benefits Previous experience in the disability, youth, residential and/or mental health sector(s) Have/Working towards a National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or equivalent Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with people has diverse backgrounds and ages. Communication can be verbal or written. Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, people you are supporting as well as those within the community. Full NZ Drivers Licence Valid/Current work visa, residency, or citizenship Be fully Covid vaccinated with 1st & 2nd and a booster vaccination in compliance with the mandate for the health sector.
