About the opportunity:

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator/Quantity Surveyor. If you want to join a friendly full-time team with a large range of experienced sub-contractors to help out then this is the role for you.

Role description:

Estimating / tendering duties - as well as working alongside the General Manager to manage ongoing drainage projects throughout the Auckland region.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supplier negotiations and selections
• Facilitate communications between contractors 
• Ensure any changes to projects are tracked and approved with proper documentation
• Cost reporting/variation management
• Accurate and timely processing of job claims

This role will suit someone with the following background/ experience/ qualities:

• 5 years New Zealand Estimating/Quantity Surveying experience including some civil work and / or drainlaying projects
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Solid knowledge and understanding in technical drawings and specifications
• Preferably a relevant tertiary qualification or diploma
• Knowledge of New Zealand contract law would be an advantage
• Strong problem solving skills and detail orientated
• Full New Zealand drivers licence
