Job Description:

 Overview of Role

The purpose of the role is to support Thai Touch in delivering an exceptional authentic Thai massage experience and to encourage repeat long term customers.

Job Responsibilities / Functions and Work Environment

  • Augment Thai Touch's ability to become a national source of excellence and leadership in quality Thai massage
  • Provide authentic, consistently high quality Thai massage experiences to clients
  • Participate in the Thai Touch “welcome innovation” programme on how to greet and treat customers, from Sawasdeeka ka to Khob khun ka
  • Encourage repeat customer visits through excellent customer experience
  • Participate in sales promotions.
  • Maintain a work diary, recording start and finish times for your activities (Base Hours and Extra Hours) throughout each and every working day
  • Offer customers a glass of water or alternative drink both upon arrival and after massage
  • Wear the uniform provided smartly, ensuring it is clean and ironed
  • Wash and dry customers’ feet and remove, clean and sanitize foot baths, and slippers after customer use
  • When the Receptionist is not available:
    • Record in the reception book details of any customers making a booking (including spelling of name, email address and contact mobile number and repeating information back to the customer to ensure that contact details are accurate)
    • Take customer payments for the correct account, providing a receipt to the customer if required
  • Take your fair share in readying the studio for work and in tidying the studio:
    • Unlock the business upon entering for the day
    • Turn on all computer equipment and lights in all rooms
    • Turn on air-conditioning in reception and heating in treatment rooms to suit the weather conditions (to heat in the cooler months and to cool in the warmer months)
    • Emptying the dishwasher.
    • Turning on electric blankets in each treatment room during the cooler months; lighting candles
    • Confirming that each therapy room has adequate supplies, including but not limited to towels, oil and steamer
  • Ensure that:
    • Therapy rooms are clean and tidy, including cleaning steamer and oil bowls and removing any dirty laundry or rubbish
    • Candles are extinguished at the end of the day
    • The bathroom is clean and tidy and that there are adequate supplies of towels and toilet paper
  • When needed, vacuum and dust the studio (reception area including shelves and window sills, clerical area, kitchen area, therapy rooms and bathroom)
  • Update the Receptionist on stock levels so that timely orders can be placed for replacement supplies
  • Wash, iron / fold / roll laundry to ensure that there is always enough laundry for smooth business function and replenish laundry stocks in therapy rooms
  • Gather dirty laundry and put in appropriate bin(s)
  • Put out rubbish every day from massage rooms, kitchen and toilet and weekly for collection
  • Lock business (including all windows and doors) upon leaving for the day.
  • Other duties:
    • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time, such as:
    • Supplementary cleaning
    • Supplementary laundry
  • Thai Touch is a provider of therapeutic massage services only: it is critical that as a team member and Thai Touch Massage Therapist you are always mindful of the strict requirement that you must never:
    • Provide sexual services to any client
    • Use your role with Thai Touch to establish a non-professional relationship with any client.



Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills

You will:

  • Have formal qualifications and be skilled in Traditional Thai Massage therapeutic techniques
  • Be extensively experienced in delivering Thai massage therapy in a commercial setting
  • Have strong verbal and basic written communication skills in both English and Thai
  • Even under pressure, readily work considerately, responsibly, openly and positively in a team
  • Be consistently highly motivated to provide exceptional customer service, with high levels of courtesy, listening and communication skills
  • Be physically fit to perform Thai massages

In addition, it will be helpful if you:

  • Have previous experience working with a computer system, telephone system, copier and EFTPOS machine
  • Are Workplace First Aid Certified
  • Have a mature and methodical manner.
