The applicant will be required to communicate with our executive chef and owners to ensure that standards and procedures are being followed in our café and FOH service. With the layout of our establishment they need to be able to make coffee and provide cafe and restaurant service. Good computer skills in Word, Excel and technical mindedness are essential. Knowledge of hotel booking systems, and or other retail sysytems is also of benefit. Able to manage large groups, and organise their bookings.
Attributes of this person should be very good organising skills and able to manage a team. The role will involve being trained by our current Office Manager for a few months and assist during the busy period and then be ready to take over when they leave.
We are an eco-resort that generates its own hydro-power and maintains all of its own water supply, so we often have challenges and requires clear explanations to our customers, and dealing with their problems in an effective way.
Maruia Hot Springs is located in the middle of the Lewis Pass National Park, which is remote and the weather isn't always very nice. The resortis surrounded by stunning beech forests, and there are many walks in the area making it an ideal place for people who enjoy being in nature.
We supply your accommodation and two meals a day at a very reasonable price and an allocated amount of internet per month (if you have a YouTube addiction this will not be the place for you). Given its remoteness, there is no cellular phone coverage, but it is a great place to save money. Internet and phone access are available in Springs Junction 10 minutes away by car. Community living is also an attribute to the property and it is of benefit to have worked in this type of situation before.
