We invite applications for Kaiwhakahaere Āko (Manager Educational Delivery) to manage, develop and monitor the professional practice and education delivery within the Social Work programme in the Te Kei Takiwā.
This is a position has specific roles and responsibilities in relation to the Social Work Sector which include registration and accreditation of staff, monitor, respond to enquiries from the Social Work Registration Board, liaise between agencies and graduates, police vetting and staff observation. Further to these specific responsibilities duties for this role include the planning and implementation of programme delivery; providing leadership, academic management and support to academic kaimahi (staff); being responsible for the teaching and learning activities of programmes within the allocated geographical area; and ensuring all programmes offered are delivered according to the curriculum guidelines and compliance is monitored following the policies and standards.
Applicants will have a Master’s Degree and current Social Work registration, proven experience for teaching adults, demonstrated experience in staff management and relevant research experience with published and peer reviewed outputs. A clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence is required.
Skills required for this role include excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent relationship management skills, excellent planning and project/task managements skills along with proven ability to anticipate leadership requirements and provide timely information to support decision making.
The ability to understand and converse in Te Reo Maori and an excellent understanding of Maori values, culture and Tikanga would be an advantage.
Please note: This position is classed as a Core Worker under the Vulnerable Children’s Act and the applicant will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014. The ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Police Vet throughout employment with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is required
